My retirement speech

Below is the text of my retirement speech, directed to the Air Force Reservists in the unit I commanded.

“When I first entered the Air Force the world was a very different place. We were working one shift per day, five days a week; the Internet existed, but not the World Wide Web; the Berlin Wall still stood; the USSR still existed; Reagan was president; and I had hair. We were at peace, in a cold war.

Fast forward 14 years. The World Trade Center towers are brought down, the Pentagon rammed with an airliner and real heroes prevented another one from hitting its target at the cost of their own lives. We were at war.

Now we run 24/7, we have planes and Airmen all over the world – Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa, etc. We are taking the fight to the enemy. This enemy is a tough one, too. It’s not a single country, like an aggressor nation. It’s a concept, and ambiguous group of Islamic extremists. And they take advantage of our weakness – a free and open society. The 9/11 hijackers took flight lessons in the U.S., traveled freely in and out of the country and had New Jersey driver licenses. They used this supposed weakness, as did Major Nidal Hasan, the Islamic extremist who murdered 14 people at Fort Hood last month.

But our free and open society is really this nation’s strength. Our acceptance of so many peoples and cultures makes our nation great. It’s like a composite material, Kevlar or fiberglass, made stronger by the interweaving of different materials. It’s part of what makes the United States exceptional.

There are many people who say we shouldn’t raise ourselves up like that. That the U.S. is just another country and we need to be part of a global community of peers. To do this we must be more humble and modest – to compromise more in our international dealings. They say our hubris is what creates our enemies.

I reject this. We live in a special nation. No other country does and has done so much for the rest of the world. Yes, we have the resources for this, but so do many other countries which do next to nothing in comparison. We give financial aid, like the billions we have put towards AIDS prevention in Africa, aid to Palestinian refugee camps, and assistance provided to nearly every other nation on the planet. We send relief missions to natural disasters like the tsunami in the South Pacific a few years ago; earthquake, typhoon and mudslide rescue work throughout the world. And, of course, we spend our blood to protect other nations and people: WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Kosovo. We have a strong record of spilling our blood in defense of others regardless of nationality, race, or religion. To quote Colin Powell in 2002, “We have gone forth repeatedly over the last hundred years and we’ve done this as recently as last year in Afghanistan and put wonderful young men and women at risk, many of whom have lost their lives, and we have asked for nothing except enough ground to bury them in.”

We are not a selfish and greedy people, which is what you hear from the cynics on TV. We are a giving people. Our volunteerism is a symptom of American exceptionalism. You see people volunteering in hospitals, building housing for the poor, teenagers assisting the disabled and the huge outpouring of money and help from regular citizens when disaster strikes here and abroad.

And then there is you. All volunteers, willingly working your full-time jobs then, for good measure, giving up a good number of your weekends. Willing to keep going despite many of the annoyances and roadblocks – ancillary training, fit2fight, overzealous medical requirements… and I can go on and on. And let’s not forget that part of the deal is that you are willing to give your life for your countrymen. A military member is someone who has written a check to Uncle Sam for the amount of up to and including his or her life. You are defending much more than a nation, you are defending an ideal that has brought hope and life to billions of people.
This country is special; don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. YOU are what makes this nation exceptional. May God bless you and the United States always.“

Here’s an excerpt from an email I received from “Organizing For America”, Barack Obama’s front organization: “On Tuesday, Palin went on Rush Limbaugh's radio show where she outrageously -- and falsely -- suggested that Americans could "face jail time as punishment" if they don't buy insurance.”

And here is a direct quote from Dear Leader in an interview with Jake Tapper of ABC News:
“Under the House bill those who can afford to buy insurance and don’t’ pay a fine. If the refuse to pay that fine there’s a threat – as with a lot of tax fines – of jail time.”

Sounds to me like there was nothing false about Sarah’s “suggestion”, eh?

It's Only Diversity If I Agree

At least, that's what Mark Lloyd believes. Who's Mark Lloyd? He's one

of those non-vetted, non-Congressionally approved "czars" that Obama has

appointed. His realm is "diversity", he works out of the FCC and his

goal is the elimination of anything Americans would recognize as free

speech. This man has spoken publicly of getting white media executives

to "step down" in favor of minorities, prescribed policies to make

liberal talk radio more successful, and described Hugo Chavez's rise to

power in Venezuela "an incredible revolution."

His idea of diversity is to eliminate any and all programming that

challenges the "progressive" liberal agenda, i.e. Marxism. What he would

put in place instead is government-approved "progressive" local radio

and an overwhelming National People's Radio. One leg of his attack could

be through the "Fairness Doctrine", which is far from fair, singling out

one viewpoint (conservative) to be curbed and eliminated.

The Fairness Doctrine is based on the idea that the airwaves are

overwhelmingly conservative, with no liberal voices to be heard.

Remember Air America Radio? That was the liberal attempt to compete with

conservative talk radio, like Rush Limbaugh. It has failed miserably,

even in urban areas, hotbeds of progressivism. It is obviously not what

the open market wanted, so Lloyd wants to fix that. He believes "...

that conservative talk radio dominates the airwaves of our country to

the detriment of informed public discourse and the First Amendment."

free, open and competitive airwaves are the opposite of freedom of

speech! Which makes perfect sense, because in his 2006 book, "Prologue

to a Farce: Communication and Democracy in America," he wrote: "It

press. This freedom is all too often an exaggeration. At the very least,

blind references to freedom of speech or the press serve as a

distraction from the critical examination of other communications

policies."

This is the kind of person Obama is putting in positions of power,

with no check or balance system. It is such an abuse of power, and such

an anti-Constitutional farce as to make it seem like the plot of a bad

novel. But it is real, it is scary and it is a threat to our country and

Constitution. We need to keep up the pressure (a la the Van Jones

success) and constantly fight against it. Our way of life and our

country's future depends on it.

I’ve tried to avoid this phrase, I hated it when libs said it during Bush’s administration, but I really feel this way: Obama’s not my President. On the one hand, I'm glad the President took some time and went to Dover AFB to honor some of our fallen heroes. It's something he should have, could have, done a while ago. His salute has also improved.

On the other hand, only one of the families that night authorized photos of the event - did Barry Hussein hang around for everyone being transferred, or just the photo op?

And how about all the President Bush-slamming going on in the comments of some of the liberal media outlets? "Bush never went to Dover", or "The leg-tingler shows so much more respect than that George guy".

Bullshit.

President Bush met with the families of EVERY fallen service member during his time in office, some of them more than once. That takes real courage, facing the families of the fallen that you sent to war. Ultimately, it is the President's responsibility that those men and women were killed. President Bush did not shirk that responsibility, he accepted it and faced it. And he honored our fallen by tending to the living.

THAT is what a leader does.

Anyway, I don't believe conspiracy theories.

I believe Roswell was, at worst, an experimental aircraft, not an alien spaceship.

However, I also believe this H1N1 "pandemic" is a contrived story being used to fuel a push into increasing control over our daily lives. According to the CDC a thousand people in the U.S. have died from swine flu since... when, spring? How many have died from the regular flu? AIDS? How many have died from car crashes (statistically, about 22,000)? How can they call this a pandemic?

The definition of a pandemic is "occurring over wide geographic area & affecting an exceptionally high proportion of the population." Not even close. "Since the beginning of the pandemic, we've seen more than 1,000 deaths and 20,000 hospitalizations," said Dr. Thomas Frieden, head of the CDC. 20,000 in the hospital. Let's see: The current U.S. population is about 305 million, so if I do my math right... carry the four... divide by... AH! Okay that makes about 0.007% of the U.S. population. Can't even call that an epidemic.
I am unusually worried about this step by the Magic O, declaring a national emergency. This declaration puts too much power into the hands of federal and state officials. HIPAA? Out the window.

So what is next? 0.007% of the population is affected, a national emergency is declared. If we hit 0.1% do we get martial law? This guy, the Obama, is all about gaining power. And he has just begun.

Today in 1798 - The U.S. Congress passed the Sedition Act. The act made it a federal crime to write, publish, or utter false or malicious statements about the U.S. government. Jefferson fixed it, but will we see this again...? Thinking that's not possible, aren't you? Think again.

The federal government is already trying to categorize those of us who do not think like they do as terrorists. What's next? Round us up and put us in camps? Ooops...

House Resolution 645, with the addition of the Hastings amendment to HR 2647, could open the doors to just this scenario. 645 authorizes the Department of Homeland Security to establish "emergency" camps on military bases. Representative Hasting's amendment allows the Attorney General to classify Americans as domestic terrorists if they are pro-life, pro-gun, anti-big government, think that the original Star Trek movie sucked... pretty much anything the AG decides. The money line: "Other groups or organizations that are determined by the Attorney General to be 6 of a violent, extremist nature."

I really can't say why she decided to resign her position as governor. She gives some reasons in her speech, but...

I'm a big fan of Sarah Palin. Her values are my values and she shoots straight and without the political BS typical of, well, politicians. It doesn't hurt that we are within months of being the same age, too.

Some pundits are saying she's quitting to concentrate on running for President in 2012, or maybe Senator in 2010. I'm not so optimistic.

My theory is that she is so much the kind of person we need in office that she is actually stepping down to take the stress off her family and to keep Alaska from paying for these continuous, baseless ethics accusations. In other words, she cares more about other people than herself and her ambitions and anyone who truly feels this way cannot be successful in politics today. The successful modern politician must put his/her ambitions ahead of everything else - family, friends, country...everything. That is not Sarah and that is why our country is headed downhill faster than an 18-wheeler with no brakes.

We the people are coming

Kevin at The Smallest Minority posts this beautiful letter. I am copying it here so it gets published as far and as wide as possible

I'm a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me.

Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me. There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you're willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now. You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would horribly feel so disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut job am I? Will you please tell me?

Well, these are briefly my views and issues for which I seek representation:

One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm not a racist. This isn't to be confused with legal immigration.

Two, the TARP bill, I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you no, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.

Three: Czars, I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it.

Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to say.

Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break. Slow down!

Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real obligations. Why don't you start there.

Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don't trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.

Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? Why ‑‑ what do you have against shareholders making a profit?

Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.

Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you ever ripped off a Band‑Aid? We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.

Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please try ‑‑ please stop manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.

Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now.

Take a breath. Listen to the people. Let's just slow down and get some input from some non-politicians on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into law.

I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I'm busy. I'm busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.

I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the checks and balances to keep from getting far off course.

What happened?

You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not. It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance.

Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot. There is such urgency and recklessness in all of the recent spending.

From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us.

We want our voice back.

You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on you to bring our concerns to Washington.

Our president often knows all the right buzzword[s and the latest] is 'unsustainable'. Well, no kidding! How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don't want your overpriced words.

Stop treating us like we're morons.

We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you—not for long—because we are coming.

We will be heard and we will be represented. You think we're so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work, pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone and we are now looking up at you.

You have awakened us, the patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust.

We will represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office. We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish.

We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us when hewill rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution.

Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us. Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and that is all that matters to us now.

We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back.

We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired.

Did you hear? We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them. Because we will get you fired and they will not save you.

If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it. Speak up. I need to know who you are.

If you do not speak up, you will be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole damn congress if need be one by one.

We are coming. Are we coming for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen. Because we are coming.

I have no problem with conserving electricity and getting those electrons from renewable sources. However, the enviro-nuts apparently do!

They won't let us use coal (too dirty), nuclear (too dangerous), wind (hurts the birds), water (poor fishies!)...

Kennedy opposes offshore windmills anywhere near Martha's Vineyard, underwater turbines near Florida are opposed...? I thought the environmentalists, represented by the Democratic Party (supposedly) wanted clean and renewable energy. No? Then what?

The real goal here is to create a scarcity of resources. Make energy, money, transportation (kill the car companies and create more gov-owned rail), and eventually food (just watch!) so scarce that we'll all be begging the government to take care of us. That is what our current administration is after, with the help of the Senate and the House. And there's someone back there pulling the strings...

First, a gimme: We gave them a loan, so maybe there should be some terms they need to hold to. On the other hand, we shouldn't have bailed them out. Okay, I'm done with the excuses.

The White House essentially fired the CEO of General Motors. Does anyone realize how ridiculous that sounds in this country? GM is a stockholder-owned company and the POTUS is making the call on who works there? Add to this the deadline of 60 days to restructure or essentially declare bankruptcy and you clearly have a government calling the shots in a non-government organization. Yes, "A senior official said, "bankruptcy is not the goal," although there may be a "role for a court supervised process to effect the restructuring... different from Chapter 11." " Different than chapter 11...I'm willing to bet that means handing over control to a government agency or "task force" or some such nonsense.

And the banks. Did you know the government essentially forced banks that weren't even in trouble to accept bailout funds, just so they could exert more power over them?

Add this to Geithner's move to take over "ailing" financial institutions, regardless of whether they have received federal money or not and you see a very clear pattern.

SEC. 125. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.

`(a) Prohibited Activities- A participant in an approved national service position under this subtitle may not engage in the following activities:

`(1) Attempting to influence legislation.

`(2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes.

`(3) Assisting, promoting, or deterring union organizing.

`(4) Impairing existing contracts for services or collective bargaining agreements.

`(5) Engaging in partisan political activities, or other activities designed to influence the outcome of an election to any public office.

`(6) Participating in, or endorsing, events or activities that are likely to include advocacy for or against political parties, political platforms, political candidates, proposed legislation, or elected officials.

`(7) Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.

Even active duty military members are allowed to do these things, as long it is off-duty and out of uniform.

Apparently, the part about studying "mandatory service" was taken out of this bill prior to the House vote, but is in H.R.1444:

"...the Commission shall address and analyze the following specific topics:

(6) Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.

(7) The need for a public service academy, a 4-year institution that offers a federally funded undergraduate education with a focus on training future public sector leaders.

(9) The effectiveness of establishing a training program on college campuses to recruit and educate college students for national service.

This is scary. This is socialism kicked up a notch. This is "re-education" in all it's negative connotations.

This is clearly a power grab on the part of this lame excuse for an organization. They are making this move under the cover of preventing "climate change", which they claim is a man-made phenomenon. Never mind the billions of years of climate change that have occurred prior to man even existing. Using selective history, you could say we are getting colder, hotter, sunnier, cloudier, etc. The current fad is "hotter" (early 70's it was "colder", btw.)

What this document attempts to do is create massive changes in economic, energy and transportation policies. These changes would dramatically increase tariffs, not just for the most developed nations but for many struggling nations trying to buld a manufacturing base, while decreasing the standard of living for hundreds of millions, if not billions, of people around the world.

Is this a new world order we can live with?

Lies, damn lies, and guns in Mexico

"There they go again".

Another Obama attack dog continues the lie that the Mexican drug cartels are getting all their weapons, including rocket launchers, grenades, fully automatic rifles, etc., from the U.S. Today, Secretary of State Clinton said:

"Our inability to prevent weapons from being illegally smuggled across the border to arm these criminals causes the deaths of police officers, soldiers and civilians."

This, following Attorney General Eric Holder's similar accusations in late February.

Let's not just roll over and take full responsibility for the actions of criminal Mexicans. According to the L.A. Times:

"The enhanced weaponry represents a wide sampling from the international arms bazaar, with grenades and launchers produced by U.S., South Korean, Israeli, Spanish or former Soviet bloc manufacturers. Many had been sold legally to governments, including Mexico's, and then were diverted onto the black market. Some may be sold directly to the traffickers by corrupt elements of national armies, authorities and experts say."

So it's not legal gun owners shipping their firearms from the U.S. to Mexico. These are criminal elements who, no matter how much you constrict legal gun ownership in the U.S, will get these weapons into the hands of the cartels.

Before our government starts curtailing the Constitutional rights of United States citizens, let's do more to stop this alleged flow of guns from north to south. Enforce the current laws preventing gun smuggling and increase inspections of vehicles entering Mexico. And maybe we can even help the Mexican government keep it's own guns from shooting back at them.

One Global Currency?

So Timmy Geithner puts his foot in his mouth again? Possibly. So why is he still in the job? I've seen nothing in the Obama administration that would lead me to believe that loyality is important there, so let's rule that out.

No, I believe it is part of a plan to create confusion and chaos. There's a method to the madness in the White House and it has nothing to do with improving our economic situation. It has everything to do with DE-stabilizing our economy to the point where poor Mom and Pop American are pleading with the government to run things so we can just have our jobs!

They are trying to create an environment that would welcome Big Government taking over many, many aspects of our lives to the point where we give up our rights. Thomas Jefferson must be spinning in his grave.

Curios and Relics in New Jersey

A Type 03 Federal Firearms License, also known as a Curio and Relics Collectors license, is designed to make it easier for a United States citizen to pursue their hobby of collecting old firearms. It allows the individual to purchase firearms that are at least 50 years old or are explicitly on the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms' "Firearms Curios or Relics List". It permits the licensee to have C&R firearms shipped directly to their house, eliminating the transfer and NICs fees charged by type 01 FFL holders (gun dealers). It does not allow the C&R licensee to conduct the business of buying and selling guns.

I applied for one of these licenses, under the mistaken impression that New Jersey was part of the United States and followed the Constitution. Ha ha, my mistake. I didn't explicitly get turned down for the license. What I got was a visit by an ATF agent to conduct an "interview". It actually was an information session where I was told the type 03 license is not recognized in the Great State of New Jersey. So, yes I can get the C&R FFL and enjoy the fact that if I actually lived in a free state I could use it. Beyond that, no. So I rescinded my application.

So the Obama Administration continues it's campaign against capitalism and it's move toward socialism. This action the administration is planning to take could limit salaries at any company! This is their way of fixing the AIG, Sally Mae, and Freddie Mac screw up? Punish everybody? Let's cut Congress' and the President's pay, how about that? That's where the problem lies.

Who are they to say how much people are compensated at private, and even public, companies?

Public companies have elected boards of directors; elected by the stockholders, all very democratic (lower case "d"). By placing compensation limits without input from the stockholders the administration is essentially saying "your votes don't matter, we know best. Socialism.

Obama to speak at Notre Dame

Did you hear about this? The most anti-life president in our history has been invited to give the commencement address at the country's best known Catholic university. What an amazing mockery! The president of Notre Dame should be ashamed and step down. Obama's history when it coms to abortion is clear: he not only supports it, but feels a baby that somehow survives an abortion should be killed anyway!

In 1997 he opposed a bill preventing partial-birth abortion. He was rated 100% by NARAL on pro-choice votes in 2005, 2006 & 2007. On March 30, 2001, Obama was the only Illinois senator who rose to speak against a bill that would have protected babies who survived late term labor-induced abortion. In other words, he supported murdering babies born alive! In 2006 he voted NO on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions.

Now most recently, he rescinded the provision banning federal funds for international groups that promote or perform abortion.

No true Catholic can support or encourage this man's actions.

Can't be 'good'

I’ve been working hard at being “good”. Really, I have. Some people around me were sounding extreme to me. Saying things like “he has no intention of fixing the economy”, “he’s using the so-called stimulus package to push socialist programs”, “he wants to restrict our Constitutional rights” , etc.

Yeah, I’ve been trying to believe that our elected President does not have an ulterior agenda to remove our hard-won and -protected freedoms, that although I disagree with his methods, he wants to see a strong United States in line with what our Constitution calls for.

I’ve been wrong.

President Obama, despite his soothing speeches, is marching us toward a socialist reality as surely as Kim Jong Il blaming the U.S for his people’s woes. No, you won't hear him say these things in his speeches, that what he uses his pawns for. Pawns like Geithner, Holder, Emmanuel and his buds in Congress.

Holder spins the idea of a new assault weapons ban; the people complain and the idea gets pulled back. Same thing happens with the idea to make wounded veterans pay for their medical care. And it goes on and on. They are throwing these socialist, un-Constitutional and just wrong-headed ideas against the wall to see if they stick. What a way to run a government.
